Attorney Profile

Ms. Rania Gazawi completed her B.A. in English and Anthropology at the University of Denver in 1996, graduating with Honors in both degrees. She received her Juris Doctorate degree in 2002 from the University of Denver, and was admitted to practice law in Colorado in the same year. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and is currently serving as the AILA Denver Chapter liaison to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement of the Department of Homeland Security. In 2006, Ms. Gazawi was retained to represent over two hundred individuals arrested by the Department of Homeland Security in a workplace enforcement raid on the Swift & Company meatpacking plant in Greeley, Colorado, and has been successful in representing them in their matters before the immigration courts in Denver, Colorado, and El Paso, Texas. Ms. Gazawi began clerking in Immigration Law in 2000, and has eight years of experience in this challenging and constantly changing area of law. Before attending law school, Ms. Gazawi made books on tape for the blind and physically disabled for the Library of Congress. She is deeply committed to the pursuit of peace and social justice, and believes that we are all not just citizens of our own countries, but are citizens of the world as well, and have a responsibility to act accordingly. Ms. Gazawi is devoted to her clients, and her energetic and pragmatic approach has made them feel comfortable during trying times.
